This Privacy Policy explains how Rōnin Sports Apparel (Pty) Ltd collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you use www.roninsports.co.za, place an order, contact us, or otherwise interact with us. This version has been updated to better reflect POPIA requirements for a South African e-commerce store.

3. Why we process your personal information
We process personal information in order to operate the store, perform contracts with customers, process and deliver orders, manage payments, prevent fraud, provide support, comply with legal obligations, maintain business records, improve the Site, and, where permitted, send marketing communications.
4. Lawful basis, minimality, and openness
We seek to process personal information lawfully, reasonably, and only to the extent necessary for the purpose for which it is collected. Depending on the circumstances, processing may be based on your consent, the conclusion or performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests, provided those interests do not override your rights.
Where we collect information from you, we aim to tell you what information is mandatory or voluntary and the consequences of not providing it. In most cases, if you do not provide information needed for checkout, payment, fraud screening, or delivery, we may be unable to process or fulfil your order.

We will use email, SMS, or similar electronic communications for direct marketing only where permitted by POPIA. If you are not an existing customer, we will seek your consent before sending electronic marketing. If you are an existing customer, we may market our own similar products or services using contact details obtained in the context of a sale, provided that you had a reasonable opportunity to object when your details were collected and in every later marketing communication.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site functioning, remember preferences, understand how the Site is used, measure performance, and, where enabled, support advertising or remarketing. We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including order fulfilment, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, and operational recordkeeping. When information is no longer required, we will delete, anonymise, or securely de-identify it where reasonably practicable.
10. Security and security compromises
We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No system is completely secure. If we have reasonable grounds to believe that personal information has been accessed or acquired by an unauthorised person, we will notify the Information Regulator and affected data subjects as soon as reasonably possible, as required by POPIA.
11. Your rights
Subject to POPIA and any lawful limitations, you may have the right to request access to your personal information, request correction or deletion, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and complain to the Information Regulator if you believe your information has been processed unlawfully.
12. Children
Our store is not directed at children for independent contracting purposes. We do not knowingly process children’s personal information in a manner that requires consent or authorisation unless permitted by law and appropriately obtained.
13. Automated decision-making
We do not currently make solely automated decisions that produce legal consequences or similarly significant effects on individuals through the Site. If that changes, we will update this policy where required.
